Fine Art Pastel Pencils are superb for fine detail work, but you can also use them as a standalone medium. Enveloped in a protective case of cedar, 72 luminous colors make for portable pastel perfection.

The leads of these oil free and unburnt Pastels correspond with the hard pastels "Pastellcarré" by Cretacolor. The soft and and highly pigmented leads give your drawings brilliant effects.
All colours can be mixed with each other, and they can be blended with water. The drawing should be protected with fixative.

The pencils are round, varnished clear, and the end of each pencil is painted in matching color.

Cretacolor recommends sharpening the pastel pencils with sandpaper. Also short cone sharpeners for chalk pencils like the Cretacolor Sharpener or Artist's Sharpener or hand cranked pencil sharpeners (with short point adjustment) are suitable. Where sharpeners with a regular blade are used, they should be replaced regularly.
